I keep two separate blogs. Both are devoted to my
interest in dogs.
Diary of a Dog Transporter was created in January 2008 when I first
began transporting dogs. These dogs generally come from high kill
shelters in the South and Midwest and are being sent to rescues in the
Northeast (often Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and even Ontario).
The transport runs are a little bit like a relay race where a person
drives for an hour to an hour and a half (sometimes more) with the dogs,
then passes them off to the next person who then passes them off to the
next person down the line and so on.
The blog describes each transport I've done and includes
pictures of the dogs. It also includes some information about how to
get involved in transporting and what exactly transporting entails.

The Spotted Tongue is a new blog, created in August 2010. Many
of the posts on Diary of a Dog Transporter that had nothing to do
with transporting were migrated over to the new blog. I found, with
the arrival of my own dog in May of 2008, that I had less and less to say
on transporting. I wasn't transporting every weekend like I was in
the beginning. I also realized I had a lot to say that had nothing
to do with transporting and so the new blog was born.
The "spotted tongue" reference comes from my
dog's spotted tongue.
